funny story....

karine, you will appreciate this :-)

so i have this problem where i can't control myself in quiet situations and i just loose it and start laughing hysterically, (i.e. when i'm in a hotel elevator with complete strangers and no one is talking, i tend to burst out laughing and everyone thinks i'm insane)

Today in a bio lecture of about 400 people, our professor told us to all stand up and we were going to see who could hold their breath the longest. once you took a breath, you had to sit down. he was trying to demonstrate that we all need oxygen to breathe.

so we're all standing up and he counts to three and all 400 people take a breath at once, which sounded so weird, and then...silence. it was the quietest i've ever heard that lecture hall.

needless to say i lost it. and it wasn't a quiet laugh so that only the people next to you notice because you're shaking with laughter, it was one of those nasty, trying-to-hold-it-in, snorting, horking laughs followed by a really loud gasp, another snort and really loud giggles. and then i started to choke on my spit. really loudly.

the 200 people that were sitting in front of me turned around and just stared at me. the ones with a sense of humor started laughing.

so embarassing, but definately one of the funniest moments in college.

people have been coming up to me and asking if i was the one who snorted in bio. lovely.

guess who had a near-death experience on the flight home from florida on sunday??

ME

keeping in mind that i'm already scared of flying, here's what happened..

so the turbulance was really bad and we were dropping and shooting up 75 ft at a time, which is pretty significant considering the tiny airplane that we were in. so somewhere in that turbulance some important gadget that controls everything in the plane that is run by electricity breaks. so we loose: radio contact, radar, gps, and other navigation instruments. luckily my dad has his cell phone and  backup radio..so the ppl in the tower are verbally guiding us in cause it was super cloudy and we couldnt see. so we're getting ready to land and we find out that the landing gear won't come down (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and the wing flaps aren't working (!!!!!!!!!). this is the point where i seriously though that there was a good chance that i might die. so my dad starts manually pumping down the landing gear and he gets the side wheels down, but we dont know if the front one is down. soo... we fly past the airport 100 ft off the groud so they can see if all of our wheels are down. so i look down and i see a crowd of ppl that have come out to see if we're going to crash...definately NOT a confidence booster. Anyways, the wheels ended up being down, so we landed full speed w/out wing flaps and i'm alive. but if the front wheel hadnt been down, we would've had to turn off the engine/prop and glide towards the runway and pray that we crashed, yes crashed, onto it....i am SO lucky right now...

in other news...WE GOT A NEW PUPPY!!!!!!!!!! its a girl and she's a golden doodle...any name suggestions??

also..I NEED A JOB!!!!!!! i was supposed to work at gymnastics, but not a lot of little kids signed up for clases, so i dont have a job...any suggestions?? i really want to work at a day care or something and i would need to work in the morning before 2pm...i dont care how early.
